"I have chronic back pain and it works for me."

"I suffered from a cluster of headaches and in combination with other medication it helps tremendously."

"This drug is very good for my back pain when taken as prescribed. I only take half a tablet as they're pretty strong. The only side effect I have heard of is nausea, but this did not happen with me. I much prefer these pills over Vicodin, since the latter does give me nightmares."

"I take a pill a day after experiencing a wrist fracture. The pain that I was going through was excruciating and this drug helped so much that I would refer this option to all of my friends who are in need of pain medication."

"I have chronic lower and mid back injuries with neck and shoulder pain after a car accident. My leg and arm pain is severe, but taking Percocet helped to bring down the pain and allowed me to carry on through the day."

"Unfortunately, I was in a car accident and was disgnosed with severe whiplash. After three months of pain, my orthopedic specialist had finally decided to prescribe me Percocet. Because I was born with one kidney, I'm limited to acetaminophen-based medications. I only take one pill a day and the pain seems to be very tolerable and there are days when it goes away completely."

"Helps to relieve stomach pain, joint pain in hips and knees extremely well. I am happy with the results of this drug."

"Immediate pain relief from slow progressing pain due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is what Percocet really helps with to take away the pain. It takes the edge off immediately, and lets me work throughout the day making every day that much more tolerable. I have deep sharp pains that are followed with fatigue that are continuous with the aches and pains in my lower abdomen, but on this drug I can function completely."

All kinds of people have accidents, or experience some kind of physical injury at one point in their lives.

The following drug reviews of this pain killer pill are a good read of how the product works and why people use it and what positive effect it has for their pain.

"I have been taking Percocets for quite a while now and my tolerance has built up over time for all pain meds I take. I mix my dose with 90 mg of Morphine every day and the only difference that I do feel is that when I run out of my meds my pain returns. But the bright side my dosage takes the edge off and I usually take about 3 to 4 pills every day."

"This pain medication works great, but unfortunately due to the nature of my accident is that my feet and ankles swell up. But with the right dose the swelling seems to go down nicely and my pain is very tolerable so I don't plan on going off this product any time soon."

"I have been using these pain meds for about 10 months now and I can feel the difference in my joints and affected areas of my body as they are healing over time. It's a great pain reliever and sometimes when I do take a few extra and have a little less on some days I don't feel any withdrawals."

"I suffer from a severe neck injury (after having 3 surgeries) that unfortunately rendered me disabled way before my time. I tried to use Morphine, Fentanyl and other pain medications but I could barely get out of bed while using those. After switching to Percocet 10 325 MG four times daily this has effectively lowered the pain in my neck and I am able to function with a little bit of extra energy thanks to the Oxycodone that comes with this pill."

"This drug worked wonders for my pain. I took it for just over 3 months and dosed down as my pain went away. I decided to stop using this pain killer and haven't noticed any weaknesses or muscle aches after my discontinued use."

"I have been on this pain medication for nine years now. I have degenerative disc disease as well as 3 herniated discs. L-3.5 L4.5 and L5.1. However, while using Percocet I am able to function to the best of my abilities and don't feel any type of side effects due to the type of dosing I do which is one in the morning, one after lunch and dinner and one before bed time. These pain pills do really work!"

"I've tried almost all of the RX medication pills on the market and Percocet does seem to eb the one that works the best because of the Oxycodone that comes mixed with the pill. Vioxx used to work pretty well, but after a while I developed a skin rash with long time use. Vicodin does work but about half as good. Pills like Celebrex and Naprosin and Tramadol don't help at all and I wouldn't waste my time suggesting these to anyone. I've tried the 'Tens', PT, massage and the Chiropractor but for Siatica and RA Percocet works the best - just take into consideration losing weight and exercising to help the muscles stretch and strengthen during the healing and medication period of its use."

"For my degenerative disc disease my back hurts all the time and my dosage is 5 MG of Percocet for two months now and my pain is kept at bay. I am thinking of increasing my dosage and even sub-prescribing Oxycodone for better results because of its excellent result mixed with the Percocets and this makes me sleep at night really well."

"Being a retired Firefighter and Paramedic with numerous chronic musculo-skeletal pain sites because of job related traumas, my most debiliating is a C5-6 and C6-7 heniation of the discs. I used to have a C4-5 fused in 1998 but my degeneration continued cause me shoulder and arm pain. As well, I have 2 torn rotator cuffs since 2007 that is more severe when it comes to pain. I am inoperable due to a series of physical complications, but taking this pain killer along with Oxycodone in the right dosage daily gets me through the day just fine."

"This pain medication stays in my system for 72 hours however Morphine drug tests are less sensitive to Oxycodone as they only pick up higher doses. There is a certain specific urine test for Oxycodone / Hydrocodone which is not included on a regular basic 7 panel drug test. It's usually included on a 15 panel or professional healthcare drug panel. But nevertheless, 72 hours is the most that Percocet stays in your system and it really kills my pain."

An analgesic narcotic, Percocet is taken to treat pain that is moderate or severe. This pain and muscle relaxant pill contains two types of drugs - Oxycodone (a narcotic analgesic) that has calming effects and pain relief. And Acetaminophen which is used to downgrade pain and fever.

Percocet use for Back Pain, Treatment for Pain Relief with Percocet Pills

Is Percocet Oxycodone (also known as Oxycontin) and how does Acetaminophen help?

Back pain is the number one issue among men and women who work physically or just get older with age. For back pain, Percocet pills are the number one choice for pain killers and back pain relief products. Construction workers who carry heavy loads up and down flights of stairs develop back pain and demand relief! The way Percocet works is amazing! It is absorbed through the blood stream and immediately the Oxycodone (being one of the ingredients in the Percocet pill) soothes painful muscles immediately and Acetaminophen relives any type of associated fever issues that are current or may develop during the back pain healing process.

Alternate methods for back pain relief (or even including Percocet pills) are pillows for back pain, ergonomic chairs, back braces, heating pads, leg pillows for back pain, seat cushions and maybe a back brace - even back pain support belts!

Or just take a Percocet pill to avoid all those time and money consuming alternates for chronic back pain. Percocet has other uses for different types of pain, but we thought we'd mention back pain first as this is one of the worst pains to deal with when facing the problem and looking for a fix.

The drug (Percocet medication) commonly is used for short-term treatment of pain due to any type of surgery, injury or dental procedure. Often, Percocet is used to treat migraines, chronic pain and other types of recurring or long-term medical conditions which cause pain and require pain relief. Percocet pills are favored because of its Oxycodone medication mixture as an ingredient, making Percocet a narcotic medication. Oxycodone is a semi-synthenic opiod narcotic pain reliever. Chemically, it is related to codeine. It may cause drowsiness (don't drive on it!) and decreased breathing known as respiratory depression.

Acetaminophen is just like Tylenol, a pain reliever and fever reducer commonly found in non-prescription medications. By adding Acetaminophen to Oxycodone, the two help to improve each other's effectiveness when relieving pain. Possibly, because Percocet works so great, it might be really favored and sometimes slightly abused by patients.

What other drugs affect Percocet? This question should be pondered over when taking this drug because you should not take any Percs with any other narcotic pain medications, tranquilizers, sedatives, muscle relaxers, sleeping pills or other medicines that make a person sleepy or slow down breathing. By taking and mixing other similar drugs might result in dangerous side effects.

Tell your doctor about other medicines that you are currently using, bang on if they are:

- Glycopyrrolate (Robinul)

- Atrpine (Donnatal, and others), methscopolamine (Pamine), benztropine (Cogentin, dimenhydrinate (Dramamine) or scopolamine (Transderm-Scop) - Mepenzolate (Cantil)

- Urinary medications or bladder, like darifenacin (Enablex), flavoxate (Urispas), tolterodine (Detrol), oxybutynin (Ditropan, Oxytrol) or solifenacin (Vesicare)

- Bronchodilator like tiotropium (Spiriva) or ipratropium (Atrovent)

- Irritable bowel medications called hyoscyamine (Anaspaz, Cystospaz, Levsin, and others), dicyclomine (Bentyl), or propantheline (Pro-Banthine)

The above is not a complete list but other drugs may interact in different ways with Percocet. Do tell your doctor about any of these types of medications that you use, including prescription, vitamin, over-the-counter (OTC) and herbal products. And ofcourse, don't start a new type of medication without letting your doctor know, to obtain the best advice possible, because Percocet side effects may occur and you will require emergency medical help if any of these signs of allergic reaction develop - hives, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or on the lips, throat and tongue. You might want to get some help if any of these serious side effects occur due to other drug interactions you might not be aware of:

- Shallow breathing or slow hearbeat

- Fainting or light-headed feeling

- Unusual confusion or behavior or thoughts

- Seizures or convulsions

- Urination problems and issues or nausea

- Upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, urine that is dark, clay-colored stools or jaundice (skin or eye yellowing)

There are less serious Percocet side effects that include feeling drowsy or dizzy, mild nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, constipation, blurred vision or dry mouth.

This pain killer pill is an Oxycodone based medication used to treat and relieve moderate to maybe even severe pain in people who use it. This drug has become to be effective in all prescribed users and pain management resulting from this tablet is very popular. Any Percocet effects will enable the user to feel more calm and relaxed, taking away physical pain that is moderate or severe in nature. Percocet is one of the best pain killer medications available.

Everyone reacts differently to Percocet pain relief pills and for some people the side effects are more euphoric then others. The side effects are really predictable and relate to possible opioid addiction, CNS disturbances and sedation and primarily GI effects, but as such are most not terribly unusual.

Percocet ranks among the same class of opioid-acetaminophen product combinations that may put users at certain risk such as acute acetaminophen hepatotoxicity if the dosage is high. This should be discussed with a pharmacist or physician when approaching the 4000 mg daily dose of acetaminophen. Prevalent risks of abuse include addiction and diversion.

A large list of drugs exists that has serious Percocet interactions and in this case, readers should choose to consult the prescribing details of the manufacturers and possibly discuss these details with physicians and parmacists for any type of questions. Exclusively metabolized through the CPY 450 3A4 system, Oxycodone identifies itself as a possibility for a drug interaction. All sedating medications usually lead (if allowed) to excessive sedation as used in combination while on Percocet pills. In this case, caution is advised. Patients with respiratory illness and in the elderly, caution is advised with this opioid (among other type of opioid medications).

The following medications need to be used with caution: antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, other class of opioids, benzodiazepines and barbituates and sedating medications need caution. Limit over the counter acetaminophen like Tylenol. Please be advised, you will need to be treated cautiously if you have brain injuries, psychologic disorders like seizures, or past history of opioid or drug and alcohol abuse. Always consider discussion of prescription and OTC (over the counter) meds with your doctor or pharmacist for your safety.

Percocet side effects and reactions relate to other pain reliever pills like Gabapentin, Oxycontin, Aspirin, Morphine, Naproxen and Tramadol.

Percocet Dosage

Percocet DosageAdministration and dosage for Percocet should be adjusted to the severity of the user's pain accordingly. Occasionally it may be very necessary to exceed the normal dosage amount in cases of more extreme pain or if opiod tolerance has reached a certain level. If the pain is constant, this opioid analgesic needs to be dispensed at regular intervals around-the-clock orally. Be careful with Percocet pain treatment dosage levels.

Identifying the signs of Percocet addiction begins with the person himself or herself who feels the need to keep taking this pain killer or by those who may live or work with closely, seeing changes in the person and their behaviour. With a legitimate prescription it might be a little tougher to discern when use has turned into an addiction. But, the following signs may help identifying this issue:

  • When a larger sum of money on Percocet prescriptions develops month to month

  • The daily intake of Percocet is kept secret from others

  • No other pain killer will do, other then Percocet itself

  • When interest on how to handle pain is only kept to this pain killer itself

  • Finding yourself in an emergency room with pain symptoms

  • Doubling up on Percocet prescriptions through many different doctors, usually called "Doctor shopping"

  • Running out or losing Percocet prescription frequently (usually by taking more then usual)

  • Any addiction can be developed in some people psychologically and physically. This does not happen to everybody but there is no sure way knowing if it can happen to you unless you try. Some instances may increase the development of Percocet addiction and these include:

  • A drinking habbit develops

  • Possibly a genetic predisposition to addiction development

  • Some co-occurring psychological disorders

  • Another drug turns into an addiction

  • Problematic family structure or a marital relationship

  • A desire for social isolation

  • When taking this prescription (or if you are naughty, buying it somewhere else) - it is not easy to take a look from the outside in to see and determine your situation. An objective opinion in your confidante comrades and friends may be needed, or you could honestly just answer some questions yourself. If the below statements may describe you, then probably a Percocet addiction issue may be at hand:

  • Multiple Percocet prescriptions

  • Taking more then the recommended dosage of Percocet

  • Having fun with alcohol and other drugs while using a Percocet prescription

  • Crushing these pills and snorting them instead of swallowing them

  • Running out of money on Percocets

  • More hours spent lying down because of feeling so "out of it" on this prescription

  • Lying and feeling embarrassed when questions are asked about your Percocet usage

  • You cannot force someone to get help if they don't want to. This is true with any type of drug addiction, or prescription addiction or any other type of addictions. A good way is an intervention, where you sit down formally with family members who really care and address the issue of this addiction. There is a good chance that loved ones will not right away see the situation in the same light right away - and this will take some time to open their eyes and see the long term effects of long-term Percocet abuse that is damaging their health, relationships, opportunities and day to day life experiences.

If an intervention is opted for, please enroll your loved one in Percocet rehab and it has to be made sure that the first day in enrollment is the first day of the intervention. This will immediately allow treatment after agreeing during the intervention stage.

Any doubts about putting together an intervention for your loved one can be countered by hiring a professional interventionist. An interventionist is a calm and objective party that is involved in the healing process and will help the person to understand what is needed to do to proceed safely, who to include in the intervention, when to hold this intervention and run this event keeping people on track and nonjudgmental. If your loved one agrees to go to treatment, the interventionist can act and escort them to needed treatment.

Percocet addiction treatment usually begins by the addressing of physical dependence through detox and thereafter tackles psychological cravings through a process called therapeutic treatment. The longer a person stays in treatment, and a more comprehensive program is chosen - the more successful the addict will be in recovery.

You can enroll anyone - yourself, a loved one - in our suggested addiction treatment program (link coming soon).

The easiest way if you find yourself addicted is to dose down over time, making sure you follow your dosing regime. This has worked for many people, just like quitting smoking or any other addiction.

The dosage of Percocet pills can be cut down by either lowering the dose of the pill by ordering a lesser dose, or keep the same dose level in order and cut off 1/4 at a time per pill usually every 2 weeks.

Normally, if you put something into your body for over 4 days every day your body does adjust and expect this to be normal. So the typical approach is to dose down using a lower dosage level of any type of pain killer pill.

But it's all in your head, so if you want to quit - you can. There is no problem with dosing down on any type of drug or pain killer and your body will adjust to it properly over time until you stop taking it.

If you feel you need help or are in trouble, or took too much of any type of medication, call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 immediately.

To quit taking Oxycodone and Percocet and Oxycontin type drugs, ask your doctor to prescribe you Suboxone. This will take away the withdrawals if you have any from all opiod medications if you don't want to dose down and quit that way.

    What is Oxycodone in Percocet?

Not to be confused with Oxandrolone, Hydrocodone, Oxytocin, or Oxazepam, the drug Oxycodone is an analgesic opioid medication synthesized from an opium-derived thebaine. This drug was developed in 1916 in Germany, as a new semi-synthetic opioid in a successful attempt to improve the existing opioids that are less favorable to take like Diacetylmorphine (heroin), Morphine and Codeine.

Oxycodone is a synthetic version of heroine but is safer because of its Phamaceutical origin where its made and does not contain true opiods and active chemical ingredients like 6-Monoacetylmorphine. Drug users switch from street heroine to Oxycodone because you never know what you will get from a heroine street dose (for example - a dose of pure China White opiate heroine will kill you if you don't know how to dose properly or are misinformed what opiate you have received).

Oxycodone oral medications are prescribed in general for relief of moderate to quite severe physical pain. It is currently formulated as a single ingredient or product, or mixed in compounded products like Percocet. Some very common examples of compounding are Oxycodone with Acetaminophen (making a Percocet pill) or NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen.

Oxycodone comes in circular shaped pills, 5 MG blue (no image supplied), 10 MG white, 20 MG pink, 40 MG yellow and 80 MG green (usually called Hulks on the street) with OC (for OxyContin) or CDN (Oxycodone) on the back. The non round versions are not sustained-release and hit you like an avalanche when taken orally under the tongue (typically oval and 5 MG or 10 MG). The round versions can be grated and snorted which is the preferred method of hardcore users.

The Pharmaceutical version of heroine (Oxycodone) is safe because you always know what you are getting, so there is no chance of over-dosing from street heroine.

All pain killers are an opiod based high from a family of opiate plants. Street heroine has many names and comes in many forms, the most typical being black tar heroine or china white heroine. It is smoked through a straw and is the most addictive substance on earth and very hard to kick.

Oxycodone is a Pharmaceutical grade heroine imitator (made from a different opiate chemistry without the bad side effects) and is safer then street heroine because there are no dangerous mixes or additives that street heroine is cut with (and sometimes, it's not cut with anything, so if its too strong and you dose wrong - you die).

Due to the very hard nature of kicking the heroine habit, people who smoke street heroine but still want to get high and don't want other types of treatment switch to Oxycodone. Then it's easy to just dose down until you stop completely. Very safe.

If you know anyone or a family member who is using street heroine or wants to quit, the best regime is to put them on Oxycodone and not have it restricted by a doctor's prescription. The half life of Oxycodone is about 3-4 hours. So if you dose with Oxycodone 80 MG pill in 3-4 hours half of it is out of your system leaving only 40 MG, then in another three to four hours the body only has 20 MG of Oxy left. This way you can calculate how much time you need to cleanse your system from Oxies before any drug testing so you piss clean. A half life is called a cycle and usually it takes about 5 days for your body to be rid of Oxycodone.

Percocet contains a small amount (usually 5 MG) of Oxycodone to improve its strength and overall result that is most favored by people who take it for pain relief.

If this medication is horribly abused non stop, long term Percocet effects can bring upon the user chronic constipation, but this can be overcome very easily by exercising and fluid and fiber consumption. Liver damage can occur (from the Acetaminophen) rather then the Oxycodone, but the dosage would have to be extremely high and the number of pills taken daily would have to number over 30 - 50. To be on the safe side, it's always good to drink lots of water to cleanse your system and take your daily vitamins, and you should be okay. Eat lots of fiber too to cleanse the system and the on-going use of the drug can continue without freaking out about any serious side effects.

If you don't grind and snort the Oxycodone pills, and take them orally and put them under your tongue, they do take a very long time to liquidate. As the opiod and mixture of the pill is acidic, the only long term effect you might encounter is tooth decay. So to be safe, just brush your teeth more often, and you should be okay and not worry.

The Acetaminophen in the Percocet pill really helps with muscle relaxation, while the Oxycodone puts you in a better mood and negates any depression.

Vicodin is like a Percocet except instead of Oxycodone it contains Hydrocodone. The Acetaminophen mixture is equal. It's pretty much the same thing but Oxycodone works way better then Hydrocodone, which is less safe to use and could have side effects.

Oxycodone is an opiod which relaxes the muscles and takes away the aches and pains in the joints.

Acetaminophen combined with Oxycodone put a cap on all pain and suffering from knee pain treatment because of the very strong opiod properties of the Percocet (5 MG of Oxycodone per pill). The muscles relax, the pain and fever and aches including pains from the knees are subdued and you can just kick your feet up and watch your favorite TV show.

This falls under the category of joint pain since Arthritis attacks the joints and the two types of drugs in Percocet when used in conjunction completely remove all the pain you feel during Arthritis pain aches.

All pain in your body including the joints is subdued and kept at bay and reduced so you don't feel any pain thanks to the Oxycodone and Acetaminophen in the Percocet pill.

Acetaminophen puts an end to any inflammatory episodes in your body just like Tylenol or Aspirin.

The pain and fever relief from Acetaminophen and the muscle relaxer due to the opiod properties from Oxycodone work really well as treatment for Tens.

Any type of pain relieving medication that filters through your body, veins, and pumps through your blood will eventually hit the Neuropathic nerves and subside any pain offering the best treatment possible - it's just like taking an Advil for a headache.

By the opiod content in the Percocet, Oxycodone handles muscular pain by relaxing the nerves completely and removing any pain you might be feeling at the time.

It's just pain. And the combination of the two drugs completely relax the Hip region removing any pain you might be feeling there.

Nerve pain is handled by the Acetaminophen content of the Percocet and the physical pain (gums surrounding the teeth) is numbed by the Oxycodone.

All pain is eliminated with both drug mixtures in the Percocet pill. Acetaminophen and Oxycodone when combined are the number one pain killers on the market.

Ibuprofen is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) that is used very commonly for the relief of symptoms of fever, arthritis, dysmenorrhea (menstrual pains) and as an analgesic (a medication given to reduce pain without resulting in loss of consciousness).
